The Menu

Overview

When you're looking for a great spot to enjoy delicious food and an inviting atmosphere, the menu at 5 East St, Littlehampton BN17 6AU, is sure to catch your attention. This charming diner offers a variety of dishes that cater to all tastes, whether you're in the mood for something hearty or a light bite. The relaxed vibe, coupled with the delicious offerings, creates a dining experience that keeps customers coming back for more.

One of the standout features of this diner is the carefully curated menu, which features everything from classic comfort food to more adventurous choices. Whether you're a fan of traditional fish and chips or craving something a little more exotic, the options here won’t disappoint. I remember my first visit-eager to try the famous burger. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the homemade sauce made it a memorable meal. It wasn’t just tasty but also filling, something that’s important when you’re looking to get the most out of your dining experience.

The variety on the menu makes it a great choice for a casual meal with friends or family. You can choose from classic British dishes, including full English breakfasts, sandwiches, and pies. But what really sets this place apart is the seasonal specials. These dishes often feature fresh, local ingredients, which not only supports the community but also guarantees a meal packed with flavor. For instance, during my visit, I tried the roasted lamb with mint sauce-tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It was a great example of how well this diner blends tradition with quality ingredients.

Vegetarians and vegans aren’t left out either. The diner takes pride in offering plant-based options that are as flavorful as their meaty counterparts. One option that I highly recommend is the plant-based curry. It's rich, aromatic, and loaded with vegetables, making it a fulfilling meal for anyone following a vegetarian or vegan diet. Plus, it comes with a side of fluffy rice, which pairs perfectly with the spices.

When it comes to drinks, the menu offers a wide selection to pair with your meal. From refreshing sodas and iced teas to a nice selection of local ales and wines, there’s something to suit every taste. One of my personal favorites is the homemade lemonade, which is perfectly sweet and tangy, a nice break from the usual drink options.

The friendly staff at this diner add to the overall experience. They’re always happy to offer recommendations from the menu and genuinely seem to enjoy sharing their favorites with guests. It’s this warm, attentive service that makes dining here feel like a treat, not just a meal.

The diner’s location is another reason why it's so appealing. Situated on East St in Littlehampton, it’s in a convenient area that’s easy to find and surrounded by other great places to explore after your meal. Whether you’re stopping by for lunch or enjoying a leisurely dinner, you can easily make a day of it. Plus, there’s ample parking nearby, making it accessible for both locals and visitors.

When looking for a new spot to enjoy good food, reviews are often a great way to gauge whether a place is worth a visit. And based on what I’ve experienced, the feedback about this diner is more than positive. Guests frequently mention the quality of the food, the warmth of the service, and the inviting atmosphere that makes it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. Many diners return regularly, which speaks volumes about the consistency and overall quality.

In terms of pricing, the diner strikes a good balance. The meals are reasonably priced for the quality and portion size you get. You won’t feel like you’re overspending, yet you’ll still leave satisfied. This makes it an excellent option for both casual dining and a more special occasion when you want to enjoy a nice meal without breaking the bank.

Whether you’re in the mood for something classic or want to try a new dish, the menu at this Littlehampton diner offers something for everyone. The combination of tasty food, great service, and a comfortable setting makes it a top choice for both locals and visitors alike.

Booked a table on Thursday evening at The Menu, the staff were lovely and very attentive. We had a delicious Hungarian Riesling wine and the food was amazing. All of the ingredients were fresh, the salad included the most delicious olives. Also enjoyed the best chicken paprikash - best I have ever had. Will definitely return if visiting the area again, and highly recommend!

Lovely experience. On our way to West Beach, we stopped for lunch at a restaurant. We ordered two main dishes: fish and chips, and goulash. Both were delicious and satisfying. The restaurant had a clean atmosphere and a laid-back vibe, and the staff were kind and friendly. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience. One more plus was that the restaurant was dog-friendly, providing enough space between tables for my dog to wait calmly while we enjoyed our meal. Thank you for your service!

Stumbled across this restaurant in the town and delighted we gave it a try. We were warmly welcomed and impressed by the decor and an interesting menu. Hungarian specialities and sharing platters made it tricky to decide what to eat!

We stumbled upon The Menu and it instantly felt like home. The place is super clean, bright, and cozy, even the walls had personality. We started with a bowl of hearty soup, full of chunky veggies and flavor. For mains, we had the classic Sunday roast with tender lamb, crispy roasties, and Yorkshire pudding, all swimming in rich gravy. The veggies were fresh and perfectly cooked. Everything tasted homemade. Warm, filling, and totally comforting.

Amazing food, portion size is incredible and the quality is 5*. Home made bread and desserts were so good! Suzy’s special dessert (trifle on this occasion was amazing!). Really lovely couple, would highly recommend. (Photo is the pork joint).

Went there today with my family, great Romanian / Hungarian menu with plenty of gluten free options. We had the cold meats starter, gulyas soup, Romanian pork stew and the stuffed peppers. Everything was absolutely delicious and better than I expected. Great service too, highly recommend, will definitely be back!

Excellent, My wife and I went here on 30/11/2025 . The choice of food on the menu was excellent. My wife chose the Lamb roast and I had Beef wellington. When the dishes came we were both surprised by the large amount and choice of vegetables on the plate . The lamb was delicious and a fair sized portion. The wellington was incredible. I did manage to squeeze in a dessert as well, this was also delicious. We will definitely be making a return visit.

Great restaurant, the menu offers something for everyone and the atmosphere is clean, comfortable and enjoyable. It’s not a chain or rushed venue, the service is fantastic and staff are very welcoming. If you live in Littlehampton and haven’t been here, what are you waiting for?
